Pros

had to install this after WIN 10 decided to update to 'newer' drivers, had reverb sound on both my USB headphones and desktop speakers, annoying. Thank goodness for rollback drivers.

Cons

sounds like its supposed to, to my acute hearing.

'A good driver for onboard audio'

'A good driver for onboard audio'

Pros

Equalizer, bitrate, and audio output port controls included in the driver.

Cons

The equalizer does not have a preamp, so some equalizer settings may result in static.

Summary

Overall, this driver is well written and does everything expected.

VIA Audio deck installs, provided I use the latest software (v.1200), but the program simply won't open (double clicking the .exe does nothing). It very occasionally does open, if I try to access it before the mandatory restart, but it is just the UI that opens - it is completely empty and has no options to select or anything.

This was already mentioned here a couple of months ago, but I wanted to ask whether anyone had:

    1. Got any of the new builds working on this (I'm currently on 10240).

    2. Got any of the older versions of the software to work.

    3. The problem for me is that I use a board for my HTPC (the Asrock Pro BTC) that has 5.1 as an option enabled in the VIA Audio Deck. It uses the mic and other jacks for the analogue 5.1. So having usable audio is a must for me. So, the really important thing I'm asking is if the Audio Deck doesn't work, does anyone know of alternate software that would allow me to do the same thing (i.e. remap the sound jack inputs).

Edit: And yes, the first thing I did several months ago was to report it to MS on the feedback app. There are lots of topics on there saying the same thing so I upvoted them all and made another explaining the troubleshooting I've done (which is to say pretty much everything).
